Casino Royale 007 (Book vs Film)

Welcome to the first addition of Book vs Film where I compare the book with it's film adaption no matter how small it relates to it at all. My first addition will have James Bond's first appearance in Casino Royale (1953 Novel) against James Bond's 21st. Bond film Casino Royale (2006) There is 3 ways to win. 1. Story 2. Characters 3. What changes between the two were better. 1. Story Unlike other James Bond films, Casino Royale followed the story the best, it stayed true to the original but brought new changes. James Bond has been sent to Royale-Les-Eaux (Casino Royale in the film) to play a game of baccarat (Texas Hold Em Poker in the film) against Le Chiffre a money manager for SMERSH (Private Banker for organization Quantum revealed in sequel to this film)who has a gambling problem and had lost a lot of money, Bond was sent to bankrupt Le Chiffre who would be killed by SMERSH for losing all the money. Along the way he teams up with Felix Leiter, Rene Mathis, and Vesper Lynd. I won't spoil anymore but the ending to both will shock you (..positively shock you [reference to Goldfinger]) The film adaption was more meatier because there was more events before the Casino game, the chase through the construction site, the airplane incident and several others. It was also easier for the west audience to understand the film's poker game Texas Hold Em, Baccarat confused me a little because I didn't understand it. With the addition scenes in the film, the winner goes to.............. Victory goes to Casino Royale (2006) 2. Characters The characters: James Bond, agent 007 who works for MI6 is an average guy, but he is a little cold hearted, but can light up at times. In films before Casino Royale (and after On Her Majesty's Secret Service [1969] excluding Licence to Kill) he was a little more funnier than cold. In the novel he makes an odd joke once in a while. In the film he didn't as much (except when he was in front of Vesper) Daniel Craig does an amazing job as bond, but people complained he wasn't funny enough (Thank god for Skyfall) Vesper Lynd, the first Bond girl, she is kind of shy and a bit careless at times (like when she becomes a damsel in distress) she does get suspicious in the end leading up to a shocking ending for first time readers/watchers. in the film she was a little more strict and acted more responsible than most Bond girls. Eva Green does an amazing job as Vesper and she was georgous. Felix Leiter, for the first time since Licence to Kill, Felix has returned to the series, since CR is a reboot of the series he still has his leg. This time he is played by Jeffrey Wright, who will be in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. He is also the first Felix Leiter to be African-American since the unofficial Never Say Never Again starring Sean Connery as Bond. He is awesome in this film as he was the first Felix Leiter I truly liked (other than David Hedison in Live and Let Die & Licence to Kill) he was pretty entertaining for all the screen time he gets. Wright would return as Leiter in Quantum of Solace, making him to be the first actor to play Leiter 2 films back-to-back. He is almost identical to the Leiter in the novel. Rene Mathis, who seems like he could be a true friend in real life is a pretty interesting character. Again like Leiter he is played almost the same way as he is in the novel except in the films he is a double agent. Giancarlo Giannini plays him excellent and what makes him a great character is how he is calm no matter what situation he is in. It is a tie between them but if I count Le Chiffre it would go to the film. 3. Changes between the two. Credit goes to: thatwasnotinthebook.com. Bold = Book The story takes place in the 1950's. It is 2006. Le Chiffre is the money manager for SMERSH, a Soviet counterintelligence agency . He is a private banker for international terrorists. One is an unnamed organization that is later revealed to be QUANTUM. M is a man. M is a woman. Bond plays Baccarat against Le Chiffre. They play texas hold em poker. The game takes place at the Royale-Les-Eaux casino in northern France. It is the Casino Royale in Montenegro. That is only one page of the differences so check out the website to find the others. The victory goes to Casino Royale (2006) for it having more scenes to it and having more events. The winner of the first Book vs Film goes to Casino Royale (2006 Film) starring Daniel Craig. Novel: 8/10 (Trivia: The Novel in North America was originally You Asked For It) Film: 9.5/10 (Trivia: It was the first Bond film since Licence to Kill to have adapted anything from Ian Fleming's work)

Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth Volume 1

Yesterday I went to my book store and recieved a book I ordered, the title of the book is Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney Investigations Volume 1. Now I'm going to review it. Case 1: Turnabout Costume One time, I reviewed a fan-translation of this comic and my review is just the same as it was last time. Case 2: Turnabout Last Number When Edgeworth and Gumshoe go to a Farewell Consort for a fictional band Bird Wing, when a murder happens! Miles Edgeworth finds himself in the middle of another investigation! Who did it? When did they do it? HOW did they do it? Overall this was one of the best AA Mangas yet, but it does fall in some departments: It is missing it's comedy that PW:AA Manga had and even the AAI:ME Game had. But young AA readers beware, there is more gore and mild language but I still enjoy it and am looking forward to the next 3 Volumes. Art: Kazuo Maekawa did a great job on making this manga's art style simliar to the games! 10/10 Writing: Kenji Kuroda tries to mak the wrting similar to Takumi's and Yamazaki's writing in the series and for the most part it works. The ony problem is that the cases are solved fast by Edgeworth and sometimes the readers can't catch up to him but for the most part it's great. 8/10 9/10

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

7.0/10
This is a decent sequel to a amazing book. But it suffers from many problems
- Slow start
- Disappointing ending to the Games
- The new characters wasn't as compelling as the original tributes
- Character changes in personality. Katniss is easily frustrated. Peeta is angrier. Gale is the same. Haymitch is ...too sober.
But this problems aside Catching Fire is a good sequel but it's a shame that the Games wasn't as compelling as others.

The Hunger Games (Book)

9.5/10
Superb writing from Collins, and one of my favorite books of all time.
Everything is great and all but here are a few problems.
There was a long period n the book where is so slow paced, it's when their in a cave.
.... well actually thats the only problem... well... it's a great book....That's all folks.. and may the odds be ever in your favor!

The Hunger Games

March 23 2012
9.5/10
The main problem with this movie is the changes in the story but I won't tell you them. The acting in the film is great. The music was emotional, heart stopping, and just pure great. I'll summarize the movie:
Every year two tributes from each 12 districts a boy and girl is drawn from a ballot to represent the district in the annual Hunger Games. In the 74th Hunger Games a girl named Primrose Everdeen is drawn out, but her sister Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her place. A boy Peeta Mellark is drawn who has a connection to Katniss but I won't spoil it. Now they must compete against 22 other tributes with only 1 tribute winning.
May the odds be ever in your favor.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 2: Justice For All

Created by Capcom
3/5
The Second Installment in the Ace Attorney/Gyakuten Saiban. Phoenix Wright is back in his....weakest...installment. The cases are out of this world and are really pointless except for Case 4 which is great and suspenseful.

Music: It's really disappointing compared to 1 and 3. Really It sounds a lot like Game Boy music.

Story: Is really good but weak compared to 1 and 3. The 1st one is a little pointless. The 2nd is better but is resolved quickly. It also revealed Franziska Von Karma. The 3rd is the worst case in all of Ace Attorney history involving the circus, and annoying clown jokes. The 4th is one of the greatest case in the AA History with kidnappings and such.

Ace Attorney Justice For All is a great game but not compared to Phoenix Wright and Trials and Tribulations. It's weak story and music is the worst part of the game. But I hope you enjoy it.

Final Destination 5

Release Date: August 12 2011
Rating: 87/100
Finally a Final Destination movie that's good. This time, death is after 8 coworkers after they survive a disastrous bridge collapse but this time they discover that if they each kill another person they get their life. This FD has very neat special effects, such as the bridge collapse, deaths, and *spoiler* Flight 180 from Final Destination 1. Yes this is a prequel of the entire series. But the acting falls short. No it's not the actors but their reactions. I barely heard screaming till the end and that ending was awesome. At the end of the film we are treated to a nice little montage of all the deaths in past Final Destinations included the premonitions. Oh yes the deaths. There is: *spoilers*
The Bridge
Bones snapped in gymnastics
Skull crushed by Buddha
Laser-Eye surgery gone wrong
Head impaled by crane hook
Wrench through the head
Shot to death by pistol
Murdered with a meat spit
The Flight 180 Incident
Crushed by fallen plane engine
*spoiler end*
The deaths were well done and pretty creative.
Final Rating: (second)
4.5/5 We are finally free of the terribly made FD Movies

Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword

Is This Long Awaited Zelda Game,The Best One? The Answer is no but it comes close.

The long anticipated Legend of Zelda game has came a long way from the E3 2009 Artwork to the E3 2010 Reveal Trailer and Demo to the E3 2011 with more demos trailers and details. I read reviews on this saying it's the best Zelda title yet but I say it's pretty close but I still enjoy Majora's Mask and OoT 3D better but OoT 3D is a remake so scratch that. But Majora's Mask is still the best with it's dark story, music, emotional characters. But anyway Skyward Sword, I believe the graphics are one of the best I found Twilight Princess graphics being well a little odd (please don't hate me D:).
The graphics are really colorful and it allows a lot of imagination to be put in.

The Characters: Link is pretty much the same but this is the oldest interpretation of him. Zelda is a little more childish but again is older. Groose is kind of the Biff Tannen of Skyward Sword ( he stole Link's Loftwing!! )he becomes a pretty cool guy and I enjoy him. Gaepora is Zelda's father and has the name of that one owl in Ocarina of Time, he also looks like him and has the same laugh HOO HOO. Fi is Link's guide (like Navi and Midna Before Her)is a real mysterious person or thing.

The Gameplay: Is fun and is like Wii Sports Resort's Swordplay mode. You control your sword with the Wii Remote with the Motion Plus piece or if you have a Wii Remote Plus Special remote. The items are used like Wii Sport's Archery (Bow and Arrow and Slingshot) Bowling (Bombs) Air Plane (Beetle and Your Loftwing). But overall is a very addicting experience

+ Great Characters
+ Great Story
+ Great Music
- Boring Start
9/10 A Great Zelda Title but not the best.

PETA Bashes Super Mario 3D Land... WTH!!

A little over a week ago, I searched up and found that PETA (A organization that protects animals) is bashing Nintendo over the fact that in the New Super Mario 3D Land game on 3DS Mario wears a Tanooki suit.... WTH! I found a flash also by PETA titled Mario Kills Tanooki, all you do is chase after Mario who is wearing your fur with blood dripping, trying to catch him, and this game is either making fun of Nintendo or a plan to take Mario down or whatever but it made me sick. Days later I search of SM3DL again and find that PETA Was Joking 0_0 You dirty liers. You are trying to cover up this mess after Nintendo was like What's Ur Problem? to them.
Short Story: Peta NEVER DO THAT AGAIN OR I WILL RANT MOAR!

P.S That Flash Game Sucks.

Agent Under Fire

Release: March 13, 2002
Rating: 72/100
Game Summary: There's sequel to this titled: Nightfire. This manly takes place in Hong Kong, there's a few chases, car chases and explosions! But this game controls and gameplay is the same as it's sequel: Nightfire which is good but is a little strange but other than that there is a few problems but I'm not going to go into that much detail so chow!

Nightfire

Release: November 18, 2002
Rating: 85/100
Game Summary: A sequel to Agent Under Fire. 007 is back and Pierce Brosnan's likeness is used but not his voice for it was taking care of by Maxwell Caulfield. The storyline is actually similar to 007 Moonraker, which takes place is space. I always enjoyed the multiplayer that in my opinion is the best thing about this game other than graphics, and that stuff,

Goldeneye 007

Release: August 25, 1997
Rating: 99/100
Game Summary: A Nintendo 64 game based off the Goldeneye 007 movie. The Graphics, are the best of Nintendo 64 and still impress me.The Multiplayer, Awesome I would alwas play as Jaws (favorite villain :D ). The Music, great! The Storyline, well it is a little sidetracking the movie's. But who cares?

Everything or Nothing

Release: February 17, 2004
Rating: 100/100 Excellent!
Game Summary: This game seems like a James Bond movie, Bond Girls, Bond Villains, even a theme song! This was the last time Pierce Brosnan acted or voice acted James Bond 007, Judi Dench voices M, Richard Kiel voices Jaws, John Cleese voices Q. This contains many chase scenes, driving action, and skydiving. This is one of my favorite Bond games yet!
